Coastal profiles of Van Diemen's Land
The second profile shows Maria Island, named after Anthony van Diemen’s wife. The fourth profile shows Schouten Island named after Joost (or Justus) Schouten, a member of the Council of the Indies at Batavia. The sixth profile shows van der Lijn island named after Cornelis van der Lijn, also a Councillor. Van der Lijn island was actually part of the Freycinet Peninsula.
