New and very accurate chart of the world
This chart was first prepared for the Latin edition of Blaeu's monumental Atlas Maior [Grand Atlas] published in 1662. Blaeu first attached the name Hollandia Nova (New Holland) to the Australian continent in 1645, although no attempt was ever made to establish a colony there. The name New Holland, applied either to the western part of the continent or to the continent as a whole, did not fade from use until the 1820s.
