Exotica: The Macquarie Collectors Chest
The Macquarie Collector's Chest is one of the State Library’s most significant acquisitions in recent years.
It is one of the rarest and most amazing survivors from the first decades of European settlement of Australia, with direct associations to the life and times of Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
During the exhibition, the chest opening will be changed weekly to reveal a different array of painted panels and natural history specimens.
