Friendship Albums

These autograph books owned by two young Australian women Haidee de Lisa (1878-1962), and Winifred Betts (1874-1958) and were compiled in the early twentieth Century. Although not known to have been acquainted, both women undertook art training. Many of the handwritten verses show exceptional calligraphy and are accompanied by marvellous illustrations in ink, pencil or watercolour which reflect the artistic and social sets in which the women participated.
