Fair and fine bindings
Since the fifth century bindings have been used to hold together gatherings of paper. The bindings preserved the information contained within the volume, making it easier to hold, to store and to transport. The demand for books grew in pace with the rise of literacy levels. -
Exploring the same territory
From 1957 to 1963, artist Sidney Nolan worked with Patrick White. Some of White's most famous novels were published with Nolan's designs on the book jackets. -
