Our own alphabet

Our own alphabet has been revealed visit each letter and number to see more than 143 different pieces that make up this unique alphabet. Our sumptuous alphabet was created in honour of the Mitchell Library centenary. Each letter is an exquisite composite of objects from the Mitchell Library’s extensive collection of books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, paintings and relics.

Stranger than Fiction

This compact exhibition reveals a selection of just 14 of the hundreds of real and tangible objects that make up our realia collection. Mr Mitchell’s Monument

Tracing the architectural history of the Mitchell Library this exhibition features reproductions of original architectural drawings, artists’ impressions and photographs. Dalgety Walkway, Mitchell Wing
