Obviously making light of her task as bearer, Hazel nonchalantly knits while
Wal Balmus hand-balances off her hips. An article in Health and Physical Culture
(1 June 1934) extolled the virtues of the sport.
The exultation one feels when a hand balance has been mastered would not be bartered for ambrosia. Hand balancing is an accomplishment of ancient standing; and in modern times, probably the only places where its practice is frowned upon are Senates, sewing circles, and sarsaparilla societies.
