Early racecourses

The State Library holds a unique collection of images and memorabilia linked to early race meetings. Rare racing calendars list the events and prize money on offer, including the Homebush Calendar special souvenir edition printed on silk. A remarkable set of images and documents record the activities of early racecourses, including Sydney's first racecourse at Hyde Park, as well as Parramatta, Homebush and the little known Petersham Racecourse.
