ONE hundred was a major exhibition at the Mitchell Library, from 9 March to 16 June, 2010, and the centrepiece of our centenary celebrations.

The Mitchell Library opened its doors on 9 March, 1910. During 2010 we celebrate one hundred years of collecting, collections and service to the people of NSW and Australia.

We’re bringing the Library OUT

We’ve created our very own visually rich alphabet in honour of our centenary year. Each letter is a composite of objects including maps, books, paintings and relics.

Beautifully designed, our alphabet celebrates our collection in new and unexpected ways, revealing pieces from below stairs.

Visit our alphabet to watch and listen as the whole alphabet is revealed. More than 100 pieces of unexpected delights are shown through the letters.
