Instructions

In this activity you are the judge in a mock trial. Lieutenant William Bradley has been charged with the kidnap and mistreatment of Bennelong and Colbey, two of the Indigenous people of Port Jackson. You are the trial judge.

Your assistant has prepared some questions for the two witnesses. When you open the activity (see the image below) read aloud the question on the right side of the screen. Then click the play button under the illustration for the witnesses’ answers. The witnesses are Bradley and Governor Phillip’s deputy, John Hunter.
