This seemingly complex eight-man ground pyramid can be reduced to simple two and three-man balances. The two bearers on the bottom are supporting balancers at each end in a ‘reverse high-low, hand-to-hand’. They are also supporting the middle men with their feet in a ‘tepee’. The middle men are lifting a gymnast in a straight bridge and the top balancer uses him to complete the pyramid. Here, Max Stewart is atop Frank Cottier, supported by (left to right) Alf Stanbrough and Vic Whitehead, with Jack Goldberg and Charlie Lusty balancing off bearers Tim Holman and Ken Cumming.
