Pockley, with Williams, was buried at Herbertshohe cemetery in New Guinea on 11 September 1914. On 11 July 1919, Pockley’s remains were reinterred at Rabaul cemetery.

Pockley’s brother, Lieutenant John Graham Antill Pockley, served with the Australian Army and was killed in action on 30 March 1918, in France.

Several obituaries for Pockley appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald, in September and October 1914.

One of the obituaries said: ‘He had gone forth at the call of duty and in the cause of humanity, and had laid down his young life for his King and country.’ (Sydney Morning Herald, 14 September 1914, p. 8.)
