The Ground thrush inhabits subtropical or tropical dry forest areas.
Ground thrush birds are very shy and secretive, often hiding in bushy areas.
The Ground thrush or Turdus forages entirely on the ground amongst the grass tussocks, logs and rocks for food.
The Ground thrush is more commonly seen in spring when the male calls a repeated piping song throughout the forest.
The Ground thrush is also known as the Spotted quail thrush.
The Turdus or Ground thrush is only found in Australia.
