Many species of fish change gender such as the Barramundi fish which starts life as a male and later changes gender to become a female.
Smell is a major sense for fishes, used to locate food and home areas as well as detecting predators.
Pelagic species of fish such as tunas and some sharks never stop swimming.
The largest of all fishes in Australia is the Whale shark, measuring around 18 metres long.
There are over 4,400 species of fish in Australia.
