The Astor, which opened on 25 October 1923, was a Chicago style ‘state of the art’ skyscraper of 13 floors with 52 flats and 22 offices. George and Frederick bought into the Astor in 1938.

Decorating their flat

Frederick and George bought into the Astor in 1938 and decorated the flat with souvenirs of their travels together. The cantilever tubular steel chairs are copies of the famous Breuer B32 chair.
