These photographs were shot over a six month period during the latter part of 1970 and early 1971 at a time when American servicemen from Vietnam were enjoying R & R [Rest & Recreation] breaks in Sydney. Many of them hung out in the Cross where all sorts of services had sprung up to help relieve them of their dollars.
