At night the boulevard feel of the daytime streets capitulates to a more brittle, more garish Sunset Strip atmosphere. The strip clubs- The Pink Panther, The Pink Pussycat, Coconut jungle… and all the others- have continuous shows through till 3am and the spruikers, some of them just young kids with that carnival barker’s nasal twang, go to work on the passing traffic with all the zeal of missionary preachers.
