See for yourself … the Blue Mountains of New South Wales (c. 1949)
In 1923 Rousel started referring to his business as Henry Rousel Studios.
Rousel’s produced advertising billboards for David Jones which created considerable interest and put the company ‘on the map’.
Rousel’s first pub paintings advertised Toohey’s beer, but their rival quickly recognised their commercial value and Tooth & Co commissioned the studio to supply it with artworks for its hotels.
Henry Rousel died in 1929 and the business was then run by his two son’s Roy and Harold.
In 1918 Rousel’s expanded their business to incorporate screen printing, this enabled them to provide a greater range of services to their clients.
