In 1947 Colgate-Palmolive sued a local Newtown cosmetics company for using the word 'silk' in naming one of their products. The American firm insisted this constituted a trademark infringement and they won the case.

The Makeup Wardrobe regularly participates in Sydney's annual Supanova Pop Culture Expo, which bring comics, animation, pulp TV, science fiction and computer gaming fans together.

This business also specialises in prosthetic application and drag queen makeup.
