In 1954 a Newtown florist prepared the bouquets and arrangements that decorated Newtown's Trocadero Hall for a luncheon in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's visit.

If staff at the Flower Room could time travel to the late 1880s, they could shoot across the road for extra ribbon, at Marcus Clark & Co. drapery store, where the Dendy cinemas now stand.

In the 1920s Miss Bray, known as an ‘authority on all things musical' sold her wares from here.
