In 2012, this venue joined forces with three other local venues for Dig it Up!, a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Hoodoo Gurus' first recording. Music was performed for 10 hours, by bands including the Hoodoo Gurus and the Sunnyboys, who reformed for the first time in 21 years.

In the 1960s, this was the place to see Greek films. The Greek community were well represented in the area and flocked to the then-called Finos Theatre.

Ever the showman, Bill Szarka, co-owner of the Enmore Theatre in the early 1900s, crowned himself the ‘King of Newtown’ while adorned in regal robes and accompanied by page boys.

A working revolver was stolen from the Enmore Theatre in 1993 by thieves who tried to blow up the safe. Later, it was found along with safe-breaking tools and explosives in Rockdale.
