The ‘heroic age’ of Antarctic Exploration

A veteran of the ‘heroic age’ of Antarctic Exploration, Moyes (1886–1981) was awarded two rare Antarctic medals for enduring the rigours of polar service through three tours of duty. Moyes was also decorated for his military service spanning two world wars, as a navigational instructor with the Australian Navy, and appointed an OBE in 1935.
