‘Just a very busy day — no excitement to speak of. It’s nothing but work work work from early morn till night, very rarely can one get an hour to oneself. I love being in the Ward but one really does need a change occasionally. And I never seem to get a letter written. I do think if all the Powers that be could come here — or rather in the firing line & listen to a barrage and then see the results — Peace would soon come …’
