Ancient Aboriginal carved trees are returning to Sydney

Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney, is now home to Australia's newest carved tree: a forest red gum that has grown for over 200 years, witnessing the movements of local Aboriginal people, the arrival of Europeans and the development of Sydney.

It is a habitat, a work of art and a memorial to the Cadigal people.
