Aboriginal Markings at Moonbi, 19 September 1896
The Town and Country Journal, 19 September 1896, page 29

An article from the Town and Country Journal detailing carved trees at a ceremonial ground at Moonbi, near Tamworth, NSW. The formation of the Royal Anthropological Society of Australasia and the publication of their journal Science of Man sparked a great deal of interest in Aboriginal cultures. Many of their members became keen amateur collectors and recorders of Aboriginal material culture.
