H. L. White stamp collection

Henry Luke White (1860-1927) spent most of his life managing the family properties of Edinglassie and Belltrees in New South Wales. He began collecting stamps in 1871 and became a noted philatelist. In 1897, with guidance from Sydney stamp dealer Fred Hagan, White began building an extensive specialised collection of postage stamps from all the Australian colonies. It is now recognised as one of the finest stamp collections ever assembled.
