The Library has been collecting Antarctic materials since its first days in the 19th century.  

Lines on the Ice: Australian Antarctic Expedition 1911 - 1914

In 1911 a group of scientists and adventurers left Hobart under the leadership of Dr Douglas Mawson

Exhibition of war photographs taken by Capt. F. Hurley, August 1917- August 1918

This series of photographs was exhibited at The Kodak Salon, George Street, Sydney, in early 1919.
